Integrating Neurosensory & Mindfullness in Play Therapy

This course will describe neurosensory play and techniques that can be used in play therapy to promote mindfulness as a powerful tool to help children that struggle to regulate their emotions, sustain attention and control impulsive behavior.
1.Explain the importance of knowing the relationship between the brain, nervous system, and body.
2.Analyze 2 or more neurosensory principles and how they can impact play therapy clients.
3.Describe how mindfulness can support effective integration and function in play therapy.
4.Describe and utilize the knowledge of neurosensory and mindfulness in working with play therapy clients.
5.Identify 3 or more ways neurosensory and mindfulness can be used in utilizing play therapy
6.Analyze situations in which mindfulness practices will be helpful, and understand how to implement them.
7.Identify 2 or more ways to maximize children’s capacity for focusing attention and increasin gability to self-regulate.
8.Demonstrate 3 or more play therapy techniques to use with clients implementing mindfulness practice.
9.Describe 2 or more self-calming techniques to use when working with children using play therapy.
Training 1:00 PM to 9:00 PM (15 minute breaks at 2:45 PM and 7 PM, 30 minute break at 4:45 PM)
Training 8:30 AM to 6:00 PM (15 minute breaks at 10:30 AM and 3:30 PM, 1 hour break at 12:30 PM)
*Must be present the whole training, no partial credit given. Cancellations received at least 5 days prior to schedule training are refundable less a $40 administration fee. Cancellations within 5 days prior to scheduled training or missed trainings (no shows) will not be given a refund. Play therapy credit may not be awarded to non-mental health professionals.
